St. Stephen's Foundation

Support for Projects & Programs
St. Stephen's Foundation was organized in 1982 to help members of the church and others provide support for long-term projects and programs.

Past projects have included:
    annual scholarships for post-secondary education
design and construction of our pipe organ
sponsorship of youth mission trip participants
    seminary scholarships

Giving a gift to St. Stephen's Foundation is simple.
Anyone may contribute by donating:

other assets, including securities or real estate

When you give a gift, you may:
    contribute to any existing funds
create a new fund (with approval of the Board of Trustees)
support an Endowment Fund, which spends only earnings from the principal
designate a purpose to support with principal and earnings
make an undesignated gift, to be used as needs or new projects arise

The St. Stephen's Foundation Board of Trustees takes great care to create a balanced Investment Policy that sets broad objectives, allocation benchmarks, and investment strategies that keep with the fiduciary duties of the Board. Trustees are elected from the membership of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church and meet quarterly.

For more information, contact a pastor or any trustee.

2017 Foundation Scholarships Awarded
The St. Stephen’s Foundation awarded $6,000 in scholarship money to four deserving students. The recipients are Halle DuBois, Annika Heyworth, Audra Koscik, and Melissa Morse. Congratulations and best of luck in your studies!

Foundation Scholarships
The Foundation encourages qualifying students to apply if they plan to seek, or are currently seeking, general undergraduate degrees and undergraduate degrees in agriculture, life sciences or medical fields. Students who previously applied and/or received scholarships, may reapply.

Application packets are available in the spring. Letters from references are required, so be sure to get your packet early enough to allow ample time to complete it.

While anyone who will enroll in college or technical school for the 2014-15 academic year may apply, trustees especially encourage members of St. Stephen’s to consider filling out an application.

The St. Stephen's Foundation is grateful for contributions it receives to enable it to continue to provide awards to eligible students. Funding comes from four scholarship sources the Foundation administers -- Wiskowski, Irene B. Thomas and Landsness funds, and a General Scholarship Fund. We encourage contributions to any of the above funds (or the establishment of a new fund) to assure the continued distribution of scholarship awards.
